First Round-Clarification

Hi XXX,

Danny from Optivide.

It’s our pleasure to learn about your interest in the XXXX position at Optivide.

Before we proceed further, here are 3 quick questions that we would love to invite you to self-assess.

  1. Do you understand that it is an unpaid co-founder position, where all founders need to equally cover the business's operational expenses?
  2. Do you perform the work with coding and software engineering?
  3. Are you able to write 7 content posts/month for marketing promotion(3 personal/4 official)?
  4. Do you understand that we do not accept applications on LinkedIn? And only review the applicants from the application link we provided in the job description?
  5. Do you perform the work with gamification and Octalysis Framework?

If you answer all 3 questions with a strong yes, we will arrange the stage 2 meeting with you in the upcoming weeks.

We would love to extend our warm welcome to connect over a coffee chat and discuss how we might collaborate together.

Please kindly find the time slot that works best for you here:

Our startup value is derived from the overall capability of our co-founders to push progress forward when things are not easy.

If you are able to fulfill the commitment on both a 6-month full-time commitment and a 6,000USD financial commitment, we would love to extend our warm welcome to have our final conversation with you.

Currently, we have secured 2.4M USD of our 3.7M USD round, where we are forming a 3-founder team to move our progress forward and close our round sooner.

We have shortlisted our potential Chief Gamification Officer, who will commit 6,000USD upfront with full-time commitment in the next 6 months as requested to start the cooperation.

If the B2C climate finance solution resonates with you, please kindly notify us within the next 48 hours. We will arrange your final conversation with our technical advisor.

Interest Clarification

Hello XXX,

It's nice to have the conversation with you previously.

Recently, we have shortlisted our potential Chief Gamification Officer, who will commit 6,000USD upfront as requested to start the cooperation in the next 6 months.

As mentioned, in July 2025, we have secured 2.4M USD of our 3.7M USD,

where I’m currently looking for a potential technical person to move our progress forward together.

The maximal risks that the new colleague who joins us are capped at:

#1 Time Commitment: Full-time Commitment in the next 6 months.

#2 Financial Commitment: 6000USD upfront to partially cover the business operational costs

Our startup value is derived from the overall capability of our co-founders to push progress forward when things are not easy.

We've found that the stage 1 and stage 2 financial commitment help founders stay committed, show up consistently, and get more value—leading to a stronger, more focused founder relationship.

Also, we would love to invite you to reflect on how your expertise could contribute to our startup revenue stream with a B2C climate finance solution.

In an early-stage startup, it is important for all founders to form a sales culture to acquire and retain potential customers, where ticking all the boxes on the checklist is not enough to make our startup survive and thrive.

As we prepare to finalize our potential Chief Technology Officer, if you would love to be considered, please kindly notify us as soon as possible.

If there are any questions or concerns that you would love to discuss, please share them directly with me here.

‣
Advisor Meeting

Hello XXX,

Glad to learn that you would love to proceed further.

The meeting will focus on the technical conversation on system design, where he will be one of the technical mentors who work together with our founder team. We will make our final decision based on all the documents and the conversation we had with all the finalists.

Here is the meeting link to have the conversation with Alexander next week: https://cal.com/dannychen/conversation-with-alexander

Please kindly confirm the time with him this week so that we can streamline all the preparation. Appreciate your kind support and understanding.

Pangeran,

‣
Appreciate The Patience

Financial Commitment

‣
Conversation #1

One thing I should be transparent about:

For anyone joining as a technical member, I’m asking for a minimum $3k capital commitment alongside time. I’ve personally funded the first <X> months and already validated <specific signal>. I’m intentionally keeping the founding team very small. It’s less about the money and more about shared conviction and speed. I’ve made the same commitment myself.

If that’s not a fit, I completely understand that. Appreciate the honest conversation. If timing or structure changes later, feel free to reach out.

‣
Conversation #2

“We’re both committing risk early. I’m covering 20K USD in the past 2 years and prepare to close the 3.7M USD round with 2.4M USD committed. I ask each co-founder to contribute a small amount of shared capital so we’re equally accountable.

‣
Conversation #3

We are not looking for employees who are looking for salaries. We are inviting people who share the vision that we aspire to achieve with commitments. The 10,000USD financial commitment from a foreign founder cannot even cover the O-1A visa when we have successfully secured the 3.7M USD round and move with full speed…Even from the simple coffee shop businesses, all founders/shop owners need to commit everything they have (financial and expertise) to run a revenue-generating business. It is very cheap to say that I'm passionate about your work or that I will work hard. And it is very true when you ask others to put their money where they say they would and show us the outcomes they actually deliver.

Other Q&A

‣
Wise Avoidance

  • Equity Compensation Irrelevant
  • Respect Previous Efforts
‣
Funding Usage
  • Legal founder agreement signature
  • Transfer into the business account

2nd Round Conversation Question To Ask

  1. Startup Journey Goal(Hard): No matter whether Optivide succeeds or not, what do you want to achieve through the journey?
  2. Climate Focus: Do you know anything about climate change? Why do you want to solve the problem? What’s your past behavior to solve it?
  3. Knowledge Management: How do you learn a new topic to solve a new problem that you have never known before?
  1. Generalist Practice: When’s the last time you did something outside your job description to make things work? For technical founder, do you know any marketing/sales? For business founder, do you know any design and vibe-coding?
  2. Tolerate with Consistency: Share with me some of the habits that you have practiced consistently for the expected purpose?
  3. Memorable Failures: What is something that you work so hard but failing?
  4. Founder Attitude: Is there anything that you do not want to do as a startup founder?
  5. Fast Execution with Pilot : For the pilot project task. Completing the mobile MVP development for user beta testing. Where are the skill gaps that you would need extra help? Being a startup founder often means more work with less salary?
  6. Sales Culture: How could your work contribute to our startup's revenue? To increase our sales, what are the key actions that you could do or improve?
  7. Financial Commitment(Willingness): As a startup founder, we commit our time, expertise, and finances to move our startup progress forward. I would love to explore the potential range that you are able to partially cover our business operational costs in the next 6 months of cooperation.
  8. Financial Stability(Capacity): As an early-stage startup, before generating any revenue, we have no money to pay for salaries. Would love to explore how long you can work on the project without any income?
